The New Book Is Almost Here; The New Publisher IS

Looking for the Sun Door will be a little different from Angst, Anger, Love, Hope. It is a collection of both poetry and short stories, has a more cohesive feel (I hope), and will be released by a different publisher.

My first publisher, JMS Books LLC, was terrific to me. I simply cannot express how grateful I am that J.M. Snyder took a chance on an unknown poet and published a complete volume of my work. But JMS is growing, and has had to narrow its focus in order to give its authors the attention they deserve. It is no longer accepting poetry.

I had originally signed a contract for Sun Door with a small publisher in Washington state. This was the same publisher with which my sister, novelist Melinda Clayton, worked and one with which I had occasionally worked on a much smaller scale. However, for reasons I will not go into, I became increasingly hesitant to move forward and was able to negotiate my way out of that contract at the same time Melinda was negotiating to get publication rights back and publish under her own company, Thomas-Jacob Publishing, LLC. She generously offered to step in and publish my book, thus ensuring that its production stayed somewhat close to its original schedule.

I am honored to be publishing under the Thomas-Jacob imprint, and so excited to let you know that Looking for the Sun Door will be available within the next couple of weeks.
